1. Kimi Ni Todoke

Plot: Sawako Kuronuma, called Sadako by her classmates for her resemblance to the character from Ring, has always been feared and misunderstood because of her appearance. There are rumours that Sawako can see ghosts and curse people. However, despite her appearance, she is a sweet and timid girl who longs to be able to make friends with everyone. When her idol, a popular boy called Kazehaya begins talking with her, everything changes. Slowly, but surely, a sweet love blossoms between the two.

2. 13 Assassins (aka Jûsan-nin No Shikaku)

A samurai epic based on a true incident and a remake of Eiichi Kudo’s 1963 black-and-white Japanese movie of the same name. In Feudal Japan, the era of the samurai is ending. A sadistic young Lord rapes and kills at will. No one can touch him because he is the Shogun‘s younger brother and thus above the law. A senior government official realizes the situation will become more dangerous after the Lord ascends to a higher political position. After a wronged party member publicly commits seppuku, a trusted older samurai is secretly hired to wipe out the Lord.

3. Fireworks from the Heart (aka Oniichan No Hanabi)

On September 9th, the day of the Katakai Fireworks Festival, high school student Hana comes home from the hospital after six months of treatment for leukemia. She then discovers that her older brother Taro has become a hikikomori (social recluse). Taro used to be tender, smart and proud of his younger sister, but now he even turns his back on her and stays in his room. What’s worse, her parents act like there is nothing wrong with him.

4. Umizaru 3: The Last Message

While a menacing typhoon approaches, an accident at the giant natural gas plant Regalia occurs. The Japanese Coast Guard tries to find a way to rescue the trapped people, however the government officials put national interests first. Tension arises between these two parties.

5. King Game (aka Kingu Gêmu)

5 girls and 5 guys find themselves mysteriously trapped in a room and are forced to play a psychological game of dare.

6. Villain (aka Akunin)

A construction worker and a woman who works in a wholesale clothing store fall in love. One of them is escaping from a homicide, and the other is deep in love. So who on earth is the real villain here?

7. Flower & Snake 3 (aka Hana To Hebi 3)

The second sequel of the Japanese soft-core S&M film Flower and Snake. Beautiful and talented Shizuka returns from Italy, however what she doesn’t know is that the evil talons and lust of a rich man await her.

8. Toilet (aka Toiretto)

Ray is a 30 something engineer obsessed with Gundam toys. He has a motto not to become close to anyone. During his mother’s funeral he showed no emotions. His life is further turned upside down when he is forced to live with his older brother Maury and younger sister Lisa. What’s more, Ray learns that his grandmother is actually Japanese who doesn’t speak English at all.

9. Tokyo Island (aka Tôkyô-jima)

For their 20th wedding anniversary, Kiyoko and Takashi take a trip around the world. They encounter rainstorms and find themselves adrift in the Pacific Ocean until they wash ashore on a deserted island. 43-year-old Kiyoko was an obedient wife in Tokyo, but on the deserted island she finds herself catching snakes to make food. Her husband has become weak and Kiyoko starts to believe he is useless.

10. Hanamizuki (May Your Love Bloom A Hundred Year)

Saki is a high school student who is studying hard for her college entrance exams. She lost her father when she was very young and so lives with her mother. Saki then meets Gohei, who attends a specialized high school teaching fishery. These two young people have a long-distance relationship, but will it last?
