47th Daejong Film Awards – Grand Bell Awards

Founded in 1969, the annual Daejong Film Awards, aka Grand Bell Awards 대종상 영화제, are one of the oldest and most influential film awards in South Korea.  It has been called the Korean equivalent of the American Academy Awards.

The 47th Daejong Film Awards took place on October 29th, 2010 in Seoul. The best actor and actress went to Won Bin 원빈 (Kim Do-jin 김도진) and Yun Jeong-Hee (Yoon Jung Hee) 윤정희, for their winning films “The Man From Nowhere” and “Poetry”.

2010 drama film “Poetry” won the Best Film award, beating other competitive nominees including “Moss”, “I Saw the Devil” and “The Servant”. Film producer and director Kang Woo-suk 강우석 was crowned the Best Director.
